We study gene regulation and mutagenesis in the context of bacterial pathogenesis and drug resistance, with a focus on three pathogens: Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacterium that causes TB, Staphylococcus aureus, the source of MRSA infections and Yersinia pestis, the etiologic agent of bubonic and pneumonic plague.
