This brings the number of disorders, for which every child in New York State may be screened, to more than 50.

- Mucopolysaccharidosis, type I (MPSI)
- Spinal Muscular Atrophy
SMA and MPSI are part of the Secretary of Health and Human Services’ Recommended Uniform Screening Panel (RUSP). With this addition, NYS will be screening for all the conditions on the RUSP.
